When the Fiat Motor Company refused to give him a job after leaving the army,
Enzo Ferrari joined Alfa Romeo and in 1923 hired Vittorio Jano from Fiat. Jano's first Grand Prix
creation, the Alfa P2 ( pictured ), won it's first race in the arduous 7 hour French Grand Prix in 1924 driven by
Giuseppe Campari.
On 5th June 1932, Vittorio Jano's Alfa P3 also won it's first race , the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
Tazio Nuvolari drove car No. 8 for over 5 hours to win the race at an average speed of 167km/hr.
